Contract Success
IMEX has successfully tendered and been approved as one of a limited number
of suppliers to the prestigious Welsh Assembly Government Printing Services
Framework
Contract for B2 litho and digital printing.
The framework contract
lasts for 3 years, covering both North and South Wales and will manage
approximately £12 million of print procurement. It is available to all
public sector bodies in Wales, offering best value print
procurement
by utilizing a pre-approved framework of top print suppliers. |

Large Format Investment
Our display division has invested in the latest technology for large format
print production. Designed primarily for production markets and powered
by the award winning Onyx PosterShop RIP, the 44” Canon iPF8000S
uses an 8-colour pigment ink system at 2400
x 1200 dpi, producing stunning prints that can't fail to turn heads. |

Tooled Up for Leaflets
Our litho printing division DWJ ColourPrint has just taken delivery of
a brand new B2, T535 continuous feed MBO buckle folder from Fridheim International.
Capable of speeds up to 45,000 leaflets an hour, it will dramatically increase
finishing capacity during very large leaflet runs for the tourism industry.

ISO Double Whammy
Following six months of hard work, the Quality and Environmental management
systems at IMEX have been externally UKAS audited and accredited to the
ISO standards 9001 and 14001 respectively. The achievement of these rigourous

Contract Success
IMEX has been appointed as one of just three official print suppliers to
Carmarthenshire County Council as part of a £1 million framework
agreement over two years (plus two) to supply litho printing, large format
display products
and prommotional items.

Expansion in West Wales
Following the recent demise of the long-established Pembrokshire printers
Haven ColourPrint. IMEX have expanded their presence in Pembroke, recruiting
former Haven Commercial
Director Andrew Forrest along with Rhiannon Ace, to head up our new offices

New Head of Group Op's
Marcus Toft has been appointed to the board as IMEX Group Operations Director. With
over 10 years experience of logistics, most recently at director
level, Marcus is used to meeting the most stringent quality demands of
both national and international corporations. Marcus brings leadership

The End of an Era
After 16 years of service John Latham has stepped down as Print Production
Director. While John will remain on the board and fulfil a part-time sales
role, he has decided it is time to retire from the front line and concentrate

his golf handicap!

Getting in Shape for 2008
As part of the Company's committment to continual improvement, IMEX has
created a 'Lean Team' of
key staff, responsible for eradicating waste and improving efficiency in
our processes. Assisted by Dr. Alun Blatley from Blue
Sky Business Solutions,
staff are to embark on a rolling programme of training in Lean Manufacturing,
backed by the Welsh Assembly Government.

Going Green with Pro-T
After extensive trials and profiling IMEX/DWJ are one of the first commercial
printers in the country to convert all plate production over to the new
Brillia Pro-T plates from Fuji. These revolutionary plates require no
processing after exposure and eliminate the use of developer harmful to
the environment.

With print production soaring, IMEX/DWJ have installed a new computer to
plate system from Screen Technologies. With the print division now outputting
over 2,500 plates a month, the new system has proved essential to meet
the demands

New Flagship Printing Press
Following the amalgamation of IMEX and DWJ Colourprint in March, operations
have leapt forward apace with the installation of our brand new flagship
press. The state-of-the-art Komori Lithrone 528 is a 5 colour B2 press
with inline dedicated coating unit capable of producing the highest quality
output available in the commercial print market.
